  • Harvest Festival Appeal

    Thu 23 Sep 2021

St Thomas of Canterbury Primary School will be celebrating the Harvest Festival this year by donating food supplies for the Thurrock Foodbank over the Autumn term until November 11th 2021.

We are accepting non – perishable food that is in date which will help to feed the less fortunate people in our community who struggle to feed themselves and their families without the support from Thurrock Food Bank.

The food must be completely sealed and unopened. Here is a list of items we appreciate and are looking for: biscuits, tinned fish, tinned meat, rice, sponge puddings, long life fruit juice, mashed potatoes, tea/coffee, pasta sauce, tinned custard and tinned spaghetti. We are also looking for toiletries e.g. soap, deodorant and shower gel. The charity already has a large stock of beans and tinned pasta so these items will not be necessary.

Please allow your children to bring in these items into their class from next week (Monday 27th September) where they will be collected by the charity in the forthcoming weeks. The last collection date will be 11th November.

In April 2020 the charity fed 6,660 suffering people. We are hoping to exceed this target with your help this Autumn.

    Kind Regards,

    School Council
