Homework will be set on Seesaw every Thursday and must be completed and returned by the following Tuesday. This will usually consist of a Maths and an English task.

Reading for at least 10 minutes each day, 5 times per week, will also be expected as part of your child's homework. It is important to support your child with daily reading as this has a huge impact on their understanding, imagination, creativity and learning across all subjects. Children will be allocated books on BUG CLUB, in addition to this they will be given a reading book from school each week to read at home home.  If your child reads 5 times a week and has 5 adult signatures, they will be rewarded with a Golden Ticket.

Thank you for your continued support.

The Year 2 Team

Summer 2

Week 2:

This week we will be learning the following:

In RE: We will be considering the signs and symbols of peace. We will read and identify how peace is shown in the Bible and think about how we demonstrate this to others. We will then evaluate our topic of Rules.

In English: We will be reading the remainder of our book Man on the Moon. We will then plan our own story, using the text as a guide, before writing our own versions.

In Maths: We are still learning to tell the time. We are thinking about the five minute intervals on the clock. We will be recapping hours and days and then finding and comparing durations of time.

In Science: We will be continuing to think about plants by looking at a variety of seeds and finding out what is inside a seed.

In Geography: We will think about the early life of Christopher Columbus and find some key facts about him.
