Year 2
Welcome to Year 2! Our teachers are Mrs French, Miss Webb and Miss Barnett. We are also supported by Mrs Robson, Mrs Young and Mrs Casson. We are a lively and enthusiastic year group who enjoy learning about a range of topics throughout the year and visiting places in our local area. 30th June 2015. This week we took a trip to Barleylands to learn about where our food comes from. We looked at the crops growing in the field, fed the animals on the farm and even got to make our own pizzas!
This week we made fruit salads! Fortunately, our parents came in to help us chop the different fruits.
In Year 2 we have been learning about how to look after ourselves. Last week we received an extraordinary visitor from the past, Florence Nightingale! She told all about how she helped the soldiers in the Crimean war and how she changed nursing and hospitals. Additionally, she also showed us how to apply bandages. We had a brilliant day!
In Year 2 some of our parents came in to help us make our healthy wraps. We added cheese, ham, cucumber, tomato, sweetcorn and lettuce. We cut up the vegetables and chose mayonnaise, salad cream, butter or tomato sauce to spread on the tortilla. They were delicious!

Chafford Gorge Trip - We went to the nature reserve to look at the habitat of animals in our local area. We went pond dipping, bug hunting and bird watching.

Our Displays
Across Key Stage One we have created R.E. displays for our corridor telling the Christmas story in the Autumn Term, and different Bible stories from the Old Testament for the Spring Term.
We also created our own display in Year Two for the hall, representing the Christmas carol 'Ding Dong Merrily on High.'
