Thurrock Mind MECS Talkshop

My name is Michael Cadette. I’m a qualified counsellor with many years of experience of helping and supporting people through difficult and distressing times.

Most routes into a talking therapy first require that you are willing to commit to attend on a weekly basis. This is all well and good but generally that’s not how life works. Sometimes we wake up feeling the need to talk to someone about how we’re feeling and we can’t wait to get on the waiting list. It’s for times like this that the ‘Drop-in Talkshop’ has been developed.

The ‘Drop-in Talkshop’ operates on a first come, first served basis. The Drop-in Talkshop is a safe, confidential and supportive space to talk about what’s going on for you and the chance to get heard. What can you talk about? Anything.

  • Distressing or difficult thoughts.
  • Struggling to cope.
  • I can’t see a way out.

What you choose to talk about is your decision. My role is to listen and to support you emotionally and mentally.

Access to the Drop-in Talkshop is quick and easy.

  • No advance booking.
  • Come along to the Thameside Children Centre on Monday between 9:30 and 12:30 (last session begins 12 midday).
  • If you’ve been referred by your Parent Outreach Worker then reception will book you in.
  • If you haven’t been referred you’ll be asked to complete a simple form after which you will be booked in for a session that day.
  • Each session lasts 30 minutes. That’s it.

I look forward to meeting with you.
