St Thomas' Wins Thurrock In Bloom Top Award - 24 September 2010

On Friday 17th September 2010 Mrs Cassidy was invited to the Thameside Theatre in Grays to be part of the Thurrock in Bloom presentation. Earlier this year she had entered our school nature garden into the Wildlife section for schools.

The local council came into school to take photos of our garden and spoke to Mrs Cassidy about the project, which culminated in the much deserved award.

Mrs Cassidy was delighted to receive the prize for best school wildlife garden on behalf of our school, which took the form of a glass engraved plaque, together with a bird box for House Martins and a selection of seeds.

Mrs Cassidy would like to say a big thank you to the parents and children at St Thomas' for their continuous support in helping to acheive this award.

This week children have been bringing in Daffodil bulbs which will be planted over the next couple of weeks. There is still plenty to do in the garden, which will be an ongoing project. Any parent who would like to get involved, please contact Mrs Cassidy via the school office.
